Battle of the Abacoa Neighborhoods

Bristol Management proudly presents the Battle of the Abacoa Neighborhoods on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st.
This EXCITING 2 DAY EVENT kicks off at Roger Dean Stadium for a summertime family fun baseball game between the Palm Beach Cardinals and the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday, May 31st at 5:15 p.m. The evening will conclude with an amazing FIREWORKS DISPLAY ! Tickets for this event will be $5.00 per person and children 2 & under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the stadium or online at Roger Dean Stadium.
Each neighborhood will have a different color ‘battle’ t-shirt that represents their neighborhood and everyone will be invited out to the ball field for a pep rally to cheer on their neighborhood athletes prior to the start of the game. You can order your ‘BATTLE’ t-shirt for $4.00 at Order ‘BATTLE’ T-shirt or at the Bristol office at 1930 Commerce Lane Suite 1, Jupiter, 33458.
Let the ‘battle’ begin on Sunday, June 1st for the competitive sporting events!
The Golf Tournament will be hosted at the Abacoa Golf Club, and start at 8:00 a.m., (with registration will probably be around 7:00). It will be a shotgun start, scramble style…team of 4s! Entry fee is $70.00 per participant.
The Tennis Tournament starts at 7:00 a.m. and will be held at South Jupiter Community Park, 1501 W. Frederick Small Road, in Abacoa. It will be played ‘Rockin’ Round Robin style. Entry fee is $15.00 per participant. Limited registration
The 5K Run will be mapped out throughout Abacoa and will commence at the Town Center Amphitheater and end on HOME PLATE at Roger Dean Stadium. Entry fee is $15.00 per participant. Run will probably start 7:30 a.m. with check-in around 6:15 a.m.
AWARDS CEREMONY will be held at the TOWN CENTER AMPITHEATRE at 3:00 p.m.
What about the rest of the community? WAIT there is more…
Town Center will be having all the FUN with a Kid Zone and LIVE entertainment at the Amphitheater from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Town Center stores will be having an Open House along with the yummiest Taste of Abacoa!
We encourage everyone in Abacoa to support their neighborhood and Town Center by participating. This event is designed for the Abacoa Community and we hope that its grand success will evolve it in becoming an annual event! So, MARK your calendar for May 31st & June 1st.

Cinematic Couture at Palm Beach Gardens Mall
The kids, grandma and I spent Saturday doing what every girls favorite past time…shopping for shoes! I make no apologies, it needed to be done! The kids each left victoriously with a pair of shoes in hand! Nothing is more satisfying than finding perfect pair of shoes.
We shopped at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. Over past few years, the mall has immensely improved with designer stores such as Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Chanel and more. The interior design has been updated to attract the sophisticated shoppers in the area.
This month The Gardens Mall has a fascinating exhibit, Cinematic Couture, of costumes used in recent films. There they have 40 costumes on display from movies such as:

The state of Florida handed over $10M earlier this month to the Max Planck Society. The hefty amount is the initial payment that was sent with an executed contract by the state to move the biotech institute to Jupiter, Florida. A second payment of $30M is scheduled for June.
The state of Florida has negotiated a separate contract from Palm Beach County’s impending contract with the institute. The combined efforts of both the state and county includes a $190 million package of government incentives, of which county funds are estimated at $87 million and are to be disbursed over the next 10 years.
The Jupiter Courier reported that a state economic analysis is projecting the Max Planck Society’s Jupiter facility to create 1,824 jobs over the next 20 years, generate $2.4 billion in labor compensation and $5.3 billion in gross state product. The paper went further to say that Forbes.com recognized the county as one of its top pics for up-and-coming tech areas. “It ranks Palm Beach County No. 3 on the Top 10 list of “Hotbeds of Tomorrow’s Technology,” behind Columbus, Ohio and Santa Fe, NM.”
The news further validates my view that a positive recovery is on the horizon. The state and county efforts to establish an internationally recognized biotech hub in Palm Beach County is one of many positive forces that will help our local real estate market bounce back. This mantra of investment from one of the gurus of American business sounds uncomplicated. Its context was strategy for capital appreciation on Wall Street, but its’ application to all markets seems obvious.
When the dot.com and technology stocks of the late 90s launched the market into outer space, the wise men of trade just shook their heads, sat tight and waited for the rough reentry they knew was inevitable. Greedy became fearful in a very short time.
This has a familiar ring. The real estate and lending greed of ’04 and 05’ has turned to a fearful cancer that is metastasizing throughout the economy.
Right now others, actually most, are fearful. Is it time to be greedy? No crystal ball on my desk, but I have noticed the sniffing sounds of capable investors. They haven’t cracked their piggy banks yet, but they are positioning themselves with market trends and other information. They will be many steps ahead when the media lets everyone know that it is OK to buy real estate again.
In the same vein, the pent up demand of second home purchasers and retirees will over flow soon. Those who have worked for 40 years to tee it up or land a 30 lb dolphin under a bright blue Florida sky will grow impatient with a newspaper telling them to wait. My best recent successes have been vacation home buyers with their eyes on the prize and disregard for the negativity that blocks their pursuit of happiness.
My friends, a great time of year is upon us. Baseball season opens with eternal hope, the madness of college hoop culminates in a true determination of a champion and a roar is echoing from Amen Corner. The traditionally active spring and summer real estate season is not far off. Will the fear persist or is it time to get in the game?

While I Was Out…

We’ve been away for awhile and for good reason. I have spent the last few weeks in class acquiring my 63 hours of class time required to obtain a real estate license. I spent a few long days stuck in a classroom, studied like an animal for the state exam and I am happy to say that I am now licensed and glad that part is over! I look forward to a new career in real estate. I have learned a lot about the real estate industry in the past few years and know that the work experience I gain in the business will only enhance our blog.
I plan to focus on Juno Beach oceanfront properties and the surrounding areas. We have been residents of Juno Beach for quite a few years and it makes perfect sense to focus in that area of the estate market. As

I drove by the future offices for Cobblestone Realty. The renovations are coming along quite well. The offices and renovations are complete inside the building. Now our attention is focused on the outside of the building where the contractors are applying a facelift to the front of the building and a complete restoration of the parking lot. We expect the building will be complete in June.
